A rare and little known crop of sprouting broccoli, Ramoso Santana is a delicious and slow-bolting Mediterranean favorite. Boasting compact dark-green heads and foliage, Ramoso Santana broccoli is fast to harvest at about 8-10 weeks and, like other broccolis and leafy greens, can be continuously harvested throughout the season by trimming the side shoots. Broccoli is a cool weather crop that can be started indoors or sown directly in the early spring or fall. For early starts, begin indoors 6-8 weeks prior to final frost. Sow 2-3 seeds ½ in. deep per cell or every 3 inches in the garden in organically fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
