Found in nearly every ornamental and seasonal gourd mix, the Shenot Crown of Thorns is one of the most recognizable decorative winter gourds. Looking like a literal crown of thorns (bluntish horn-like protrusions), this prized gourd is smaller than most varieties yet boasts all the same eye-catching flare as Speckled Swan, Turks Turban, or Corsican. Comes in a variety of colors including orange, green, white, yellow or a color mix, and can display without and with stripes. Gourds are a full sun crop sown direct after the final frost but, for earliest starts, begin indoors 4-6 weeks prior. Plant 3-4 seeds .5 inches deep per cell or every 36-48 inches in garden in loamy, well-drained soil in full sun. Seeds germinate in 4-10 days and thin to 1 plant before transplanting.
