? Calabrese broccoli offers a tender texture and offers a mild, sweet flavor with subtle peppery notes.
☀️ Calabrese is a fast-growing and very easy-to-grow crop that is also known as American, Italian or green sprouting broccoli.
? Growing up to 24" tall, it produces bluish-green heads up to 6" diameter that are harvested in the summer or autumn, depending on the time it is sown.
?? A cold-season vegetable, broccoli should be planted outside as soon as the ground can be worked. It can be direct seeded or transplanted 2-3 weeks before the last frost. Many people start them indoors 4-6 weeks beforehand so they will be ready to harvest in the summer.
? Sow the seeds 1/4-1/2” deep and 12-24” apart. Rows should be 36” apart. Plant broccoli in full sun or the plant may become leggy and produce small heads.
